Ingredients: > 400 g of herring fillets "matjes” |
Directions: | |
1 | Rinse the herring in cold water. 2 | Cut them into 2cm long pieces. 3 | Put the herring fillets in a jar, alternating them with the onions, oil, pepper and lemon juice. Keep in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours. 4 | Serve the marinated herring on a slice of good bread covered with the onion mixture. |
