MY MOTHER-IN-LAW'S ELDERBERRY SYRUP

Approximately 3 l of syrup  All level

Ingredients:

> 12 beautiful elderflowers
> 2 kg sugar
> 2 l water
> 40 gr citric acid
> 2 organic or untreated lemons, cut into quarters

 

Directions:

1 | Rinse the elderberry flowers under running water.

2 | Put the elderflowers in a large saucepan.

3 | Cover them with the sugar, the water and the citric acid.

| Squeeze the lemon quarters onto the mixture and add them to the pan and mix everything together.

| Let stand for 48 hours. Stir occasionally.

| Bring to a boil.

| Filter the syrup and put it in sterilized bottles.
