KOREAN STREET FOOD | 06.04.2024

Street food is a window into a country’s culture and no more so than in South Korea. Wander the many streets and markets of Seoul, Busan or Myeong-Dong and you will be mesmerised by the smells, colours and variety of the food on offer.

In some towns, street food feeds half the population on a daily basis and food trucks can be seen on most corners, sometimes filling up entire streets. The following cooking class with Tom Mansfield prepares small selection of Korean street food that does not require deep frying or an open fire.

For these more unhealthy, but very delicious options, you will just have to visit the country itself!

GIMBAP:
-
Meat/tofu stuffed mega sushi with omelette, fresh herbs and dipping sauce

DAKGANGJEONG:

- Spicy sticky chicken (served with salad leaves to wrap)

GYERAN-MARI:
-
Rolled omelettes

TTEOKBOKKI:
-
Spicy Rice Cakes

MATTANG:
-
Candied sweet potato
